3 Full time- Daytime hours 8:00-4:00 (some beginning in July)
Part time- Tuesday and Fridays 9-5 (opportunity for full time)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support professionals to join our team. As a direct support professional, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This is an important position that requires strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and ensure the safety of individuals
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as families, program managers and community partners to ensure quality services.
- Advocate for individuals rights and ensure their needs are met
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Requirements:
- Previous experience in caregiving or working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
